OAK RIDGE (WATE) – As the closing date for the Oak Ridge Mall approaches, plans to redevelop the site are still in the works.
Demolition on the Main Street Oak Ridge project was supposed to start this summer, but it never happened. The property owners picked RealtyLink to take over from the original developers. The closing date on the new contract is set for Dec. 15.
Principal of RealtyLink, Neil Wilson, says it’s one of the most challenging projects he’s worked on.
“It’s a matter of demolishing what’s existing, other than a Penney’s and a Belk’s, and they’re rebuilding a brand new shopping center,” he said.
